I swear to you that we have not, in fact, fallen off the face of the planet. It just seems like that judging by our blog activity.
We'll be back soon with some sweet updates, spring shots, and info on this summer!
I hope everyone is having an awesome 2010 so far! Can you believe it's almost April?? Eek!
(ps I don't have my nice camera here with me at college, so Georgia Mae will be posting some more photos later this week!)
pps (or pss??) this next pic was taken in the fall here at Pullman!

Merry Christmas
Well the cake is not baked. The dog is not walked, a second time at least. The lights have not been strung, and the presents have yet to be wrapped.
OH WELL! We're having way more fun listening to Christmas music, snuggling with Alice, and taking photos anyways.
I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Christmas!
. . . Alice looks like she's asking if we've been naughty or nice. She definitely falls into the naughty list! (good thing she's cute)

Be back soon..
..well I won't- but Georgia will have some new photos to post very soon! It's a bummer not being home for the last of the senior shoots- and so weird too- but I'm looking forward to seeing the awesome photos.
College is awesome, there's really no other way to describe it.
I know that the posts have been lacking of photos, but we'll have some up shortly I promise!

Dorm!
Here's a little tour of part of my dorm- I had way too much fun making this! (this was taken with my wee Canon, not my beast, hence the slightly cruddy quality :-)

Still here!
Phew. I have the rest of today, Wednesday, Thursday and part of Friday to complete the following list:
-clean my room (eh.. it's rather a mess. Clean! but messy)
-get used to my new computer
-finish editing/upload/order the last few photo sessions
-clean my mini-fridge
-pack for vacation
-pack for college (what? already?)
-hang out with all my awesome friends and family and puppy!
-take photos with mom and georgie
.... and there's even more! But it's all so much fun. Don't get me wrong, this is in no way complaining! I'm just saying :-)
In other news, Georgia will be doing more photos in September (any last minute senior photos? She's your gal.) Her number is 868-4070, so just give her a call!
Oh and sorry there isn't a photo with this post. I have more sessions that I'll be posting when I have a second to breath. Who knows, maybe some late night in my dorm room??

101
Dobermans? No, just one, but this is post number 101! Thank you to everyone who has made it possible for us to get this far. I love my job, thank you so much for allowing me to follow this dream.
p.s. more photos coming soon. I just had to share this one of Alice. We weighed her yesterday and she is a whopping 65 pounds! Pretty big for a 7 month old puppy.

A Day in the Life
In my mind, I always picture summer as a vast expanse of time to spend however I please. Maybe I'll finish the four books I'm reading. Maybe I'll spend an entire day watching the Harry Potter movies, then another one watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I still can't decide.
But this is not how it goes, and thank goodness because that would be dull. So here's a taste of a day in my family. So let's start with the morning. So, how I get woken up depends on where I sleep. Downstairs, Alice jumps on the bed and stands over me menacingly. Okay it's not scary, just cute. Upstairs, either my phone plays Pitbull, my alarm clock goes off, Mom comes in telling me who is in the paper, or Alice comes to say 'hi'.
Then it's photos and editing!! This consumes most of the actual day, which brings us to the evening. Sometimes we're still editing photos- mom cooes over the cute children (and aren't they adorable??) and Dad notices the cool cars, such as this one from today:
Lately we've been playing Yahtzee in the evenings, too. This is always interesting. Alice has never heard the sound of the dice being shaken in the cup. Here's her reaction and us playing:

Ah the chaos!
This is why I love my life.

"Whoa! What is that??"

"I love you Georgie"

Dad rolls a Yahtzee on the first roll...

I remain unimpressed with the outcome of my dice.

This last weekend, Georgia Mae and I took photos for the Art Gala. The artists were painting the first part of the event, and then they auctioned off the paintings later in the evening. Seeing all their amazing work- If I had money, it would have been long gone- made me think that I wanted to paint! I have a set of acrylic paints that I used and bought a cheap canvas. Here are some photos of my adventure, I actually ended up painting three little canvases. The first one is my favorite.
The paint.

The canvas, painted black for dramatic effect.

The photo

The painting on my kitchen floor (of Alice).

The second painting of Stella that is not quite finished in this photo.
There is a third painting of Louise (the third doberman) but I have yet to photograph it.
I now(no kidding on the timing of all this) just heard and found little Alice drinking from the toilet (insert me yelling "No Alice, NO!" while trying hard not to scare her, just prove a point. Sounds a lot like parenting doesn't it?) And as I write this the dog who just drank from the lovely porcelain bowl in the bathroom is chewing, no, eating my slipper. Ew.
And, no kidding, she just yelped in the highest little pitch for an unknown reason. We think she bit her tongue.Ah the chaos!
This is why I love my life.

Summer, here I come
So good news. Very, very good news.. I am no longer doing Summer Advantage! So what does this mean for everyone and us?? It means that I get my summer back, I can go to the Harry Potter opening (YES!), enjoy the state fair, and be here the entire month of July for photos, fun, and whatever else my heart desires within reason.
But why?
Here's the reason we opted out: so being new at this whole college thing, I was unaware that normal general education requirements (GER's) differ from the honors college requirements to graduate. The classes I would have been taking would have only filled normal GER credits, not the honors ones. You with me? In short, the credits would have been worth nothing to me, and would have cost extra money and time.
I'm so excited I get to be here and continue taking more photos this summer. I look forward to it so, so much. So that's my good news, I hope everyone else is having as great a summer as I am!
Signing off for now,
halley :)

We're back
Crazy, exciting, overwhelming, awesome. That pretty much sums up my entire week. This week my parents and I were at orientation for college! woot woot. Sorry it's taken me a bit longer to reply to emails- we only had access to computers one night this week!
the tassel..
and the inside of my cap! I had to decorate it a teensy bit, so this is what I came up with.
The best part about graduation was seeing everybody. This is Faith, a family friend from when we lived in Texas. She was so great to have stay at our house. She is so easy to talk to and helped so much with everything (for those of you that have not gone through a graduation, it's insanely busy).
Anyways.. I am embarrassed to say that throughout this past week I have taken only one photo of the whole trip! .. and it was of a cloud that was shaped funny.
There'll be more photos up soon- we have some really fun sessions coming up (I can't wait!!).
In the meantime, here are some photos from my graduation (which was June 1):
p.s. I'm putting them as small photos because it's rather late, but the next posts will have beautiful big photo! :-)
here's my robe..

Long time no blog :-(
Eek! sorry it's been for FOREVER. crazy times, but I'll be posting bunches of photos from a wedding we went to this weekend in North Carolina! For now, though, I have to catch up on loads of homework from being sick and being gone. FUN!
Here's a photo from the farmer's market in NC- enjoy your daily serving of fruits and veggies :-)

Happy St. Patty's Day!
A lot has been happening lately. For one, our (CMR's) boys just took first place at State for basketball and the girls took third! I couldn't be more proud. My whole family went down for the tournament and it was so much fun to watch all of the teams and just experience it. If you have never been to a tourney like this one, you definitely should. There's so much excitement, tension, and thundering applause; there's really nothing like it.
So that's one bit of news for ya. Another is that the business cards came! They are so shiny and pretty I just love them to pieces.
Let's see.. for more updates, Alice is getting so big (I'll post some more pictures of her soon) and Georgia Mae got a haircut! And of course today is Saint Patrick's Day! Phew. I hope you all are having an awesome week, and because posts are oh-so-dull without photos- here is one of Georgie's new do.

Remember this?
I can't remember whether I've posted this photo or not, so I thought I might as well post it again. We just finished creating and ordering some business cards! These are the first we've ever done, but I know you'll love them as much as we do.

Meet Alice
Goodness it has been forever since I've posted something new. After the passing of our beloved Stella, we have gotten another puppy, Alice. As some of you know, having a puppy is like having a small child: she gets fussy when she's tired, it took her a bit to sleep through the night, and she's still in the process of being potty-trained.
The main difference is that she's fuzzy and bites! She's a sweetie though, and we'll definitely be posting photos as she grows up. These two are from the first day we picked her up- now she's bigger and has lost all the extra skin around her little face. Cute!

Time for a break..
Hey! We'd just like to let you know that due to the craziness of school and the season, we won't be scheduling any sessions until after semester finals :( Thanks for your understanding!

Calgary
This past weekend we went to Calgary, Alberta and had a blast! This is the reason for the delay in posting actually.. We got to eat all sorts of yumi food (East Indian and Moroccan to name a few ) and see the sights. This is a funky shot I got looking out our hotel room window, helped along with a little photo shop ;)
