Kaitlyn

Another gorgeous/smart/funny/amazing senior! Seriously, every senior that I've met this summer has been so cool. The future is looking bright for this generation!

Quick side note: Kaitlyn and I discovered that we are fans of all the same TV shows. The exact same ones. This girl has good taste. And just talking about the shows (Bones, Psych, the Office to name a few) made me want to go home and watch all of them. But I didn't, which proves that I do have a strand of willpower left for me this summer. Although my summer reading could use a little more of my efforts.

This is her puppy Oly (Oley? I'll have to double-check the spelling on this pup's name). He is so cute, I just want to puppy-nap him!

Dobermans? No, just one, but this is post number 101! Thank you to everyone who has made it possible for us to get this far. I love my job, thank you so much for allowing me to follow this dream.

p.s. more photos coming soon. I just had to share this one of Alice. We weighed her yesterday and she is a whopping 65 pounds! Pretty big for a 7 month old puppy.

Steven

Steven was a senior a couple years ago, but he never had 'official' senior photos done. This all changed today (dun dun dunnnn...!) and despite a dead car battery, we got some sweet shots. Here's one of my favs from the beginning. As soon as we drove up and saw him in his suit, we knew it would be an awesome shoot.

p.s. we tried to get it so that there was no graffiti behind him in the skate park, and I think we succeeded! (?)

We're back! I'll be posting more photos soon. Here's a shot from our vacation over the 4th.

Happy 4th of July everyone! (sorry it's a few days late)

More from Abbey..

But first, I hope you like the new blog! I definitely liked the black & white look we had going (otherwise I wouldn't have used it) but as color is one of my favorite things in photographs, I thought we should incorporate it! So yeah, there's that story.

And here are some more photos from our shoot with Abbey! We had such a blast- laughing the entire time. Thanks again Abbey,

April & Glen

I can't write much now (it's late- my mind is NUMB!) but let me say that these two are some of the smartest, sweetest, and coolest kids around. We did their senior sessions together for a whole-day shoot which was really fun. Remember the cool Comet from here? It was on their grandfather's property which is where we started- and got eaten alive by bugs!

Look at their eyes. Wow.

Don't you love her hair??

Oh my goodness! April, you are just too cute/pretty!

Glen! (side note: this is the car he has been, and will continue to fix up! It's really sweet, and the paint on the dashboard even matches the outside of the car-neat.)

In my head I want to call this truck a 'hunk of junk' (only because it rhymes), but in reality it runs and is the sweetest ever. possibly. It has that classic truck sound that you only hear in really old trucks now. Love it.

Goodness, you are so handsome! I think Glen and April will go on to rule the world someday. They are both brilliant (as mentioned before), handsome/gorgeous, and super nice! Sounds like a good combo to me.

Brooke & Marla, part II

This was the first mother-daughter shoot we have ever done, and it was a blast. We went up the the Sluice Boxes (amazing!!) for these, and the green was so lovely! I'll be seeing you at the Harry Potter premiere, Brooke!

This is my fav :)

Brooke, you are stunning. There is no getting around that fact- check it out!

A Day in the Life

In my mind, I always picture summer as a vast expanse of time to spend however I please. Maybe I'll finish the four books I'm reading. Maybe I'll spend an entire day watching the Harry Potter movies, then another one watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I still can't decide.

But this is not how it goes, and thank goodness because that would be dull. So here's a taste of a day in my family. So let's start with the morning. So, how I get woken up depends on where I sleep. Downstairs, Alice jumps on the bed and stands over me menacingly. Okay it's not scary, just cute. Upstairs, either my phone plays Pitbull, my alarm clock goes off, Mom comes in telling me who is in the paper, or Alice comes to say 'hi'.

Then it's photos and editing!! This consumes most of the actual day, which brings us to the evening. Sometimes we're still editing photos- mom cooes over the cute children (and aren't they adorable??) and Dad notices the cool cars, such as this one from today:
Lately we've been playing Yahtzee in the evenings, too. This is always interesting. Alice has never heard the sound of the dice being shaken in the cup. Here's her reaction and us playing:

"Whoa! What is that??"

"I love you Georgie"
Dad rolls a Yahtzee on the first roll...
I remain unimpressed with the outcome of my dice.
This last weekend, Georgia Mae and I took photos for the Art Gala. The artists were painting the first part of the event, and then they auctioned off the paintings later in the evening. Seeing all their amazing work- If I had money, it would have been long gone- made me think that I wanted to paint! I have a set of acrylic paints that I used and bought a cheap canvas. Here are some photos of my adventure, I actually ended up painting three little canvases. The first one is my favorite.
The paint.
The canvas, painted black for dramatic effect.
The photo
The painting on my kitchen floor (of Alice).

The second painting of Stella that is not quite finished in this photo.

There is a third painting of Louise (the third doberman) but I have yet to photograph it.

I now(no kidding on the timing of all this) just heard and found little Alice drinking from the toilet (insert me yelling "No Alice, NO!" while trying hard not to scare her, just prove a point. Sounds a lot like parenting doesn't it?) And as I write this the dog who just drank from the lovely porcelain bowl in the bathroom is chewing, no, eating my slipper. Ew.

And, no kidding, she just yelped in the highest little pitch for an unknown reason. We think she bit her tongue.

Ah the chaos!

This is why I love my life.
